In response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Ma-Yi invested in transforming our rehearsal space into a video production studio. Centrally located in midtown Manhattan, the new studio is fully equipped to help artists produce high-quality 4K videos with ease.

All high touch surfaces and equipment are cleaned thoroughly before and after each booking.
Studio is stocked with full PPE kits.
High-quality air filtration.
UV light sanitized regularly.
Masks are required in the space unless on camera.
Extensive contact tracing procedures.
Technicians are tested regularly.
A maximum of 4-5 people are allowed in the space at one time.

Basic Black Commercial Rate

Includes all camera, editing, lighting, and sound equipment (plus minor perishables). Non-profit organizations and other independent artists should contact Jakob Carter (jakob@ma-yitheatre.org) for rates. All rental rates include one (1) technician to assist with set-up and answer technical questions regarding equipment use. They are not there to function as camera operators, or crew members. All renting companies must provide their own camera operators, and consult with their own designers.

Payment Policy

50% deposit is required at the time of booking.
50% payment is required the day before rental.
Payments to be made by credit card (preferred) or check.
Fully refundable if cancelled 7 calendar days before rental date.
Per availability, rescheduling is available at no additional cost when arranged at least 14 days prior to rental date.

Additional Services

Seamless paper (107” x 12’): $30 flat
Hanging backdrop/greenscreen: $25 flat
Full white space: $150 flat

Safety Requirements

Masks must worn at all times (except when filming the talent).
Temperature must be checked prior to entering the studio.
All renters must sanitize their hands upon entering the room (even after to going to the bathroom/smoke break/lunch).
Gaiter necks/polyester face coverings are not acceptable face protection. Shields are not replacements for masks.
