Decolonization: Living the Questions

What does colonialism mean to you? Have you experienced it? How do we talk about it? How do we live with it? What is to be done?

Welcome to Ma-Yi Theater Company’s digital streaming platform: MA-YI STUDIOS.

This is our response to the COVID-19 pandemic that has closed theaters and live performance venues across the United States and the rest of the world. Many of you will ask, is it still theater?

We’d like to think so, even if the experience is vastly different. This is more than just being clever and creative, it’s about putting artists and craftspeople to work.

Until we can all get back inside a theater to share the unique experience of live performances, we will find every means possible to make art and engage our communities.
